Position Summary | This postdoctoral position is in the laboratory of Dr. Joan Taylor (UNC Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine). The postdoc will use a variety of genetically modified mouse models and biochemical approaches to uncover mechanisms that control mitochondrial clearance and regulate the development of atherosclerosis, cardiac failure, and muscle degeneration and to develop small molecule regulators as lead compounds for future therapies. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements | Ph.D. or equivalent in the biological sciences. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | Postdoc must have expertise in drug screening and drug development; should also have a proven record of working independently and have strong English speaking and writing skills. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | Postdoc should have a strong background in one or more of the following areas: molecular biology, cardiovascular biology, biochemistry, RNA sequencing, proteomics, cell signaling. |
